Monumental Sculpture Exhibit by Edgardo Carmona
For the first time in North America an international public art exhibit of iron sculptures by renowned Colombian artist Edgardo Carmona will be on display in the historic Fort Myers River District. The exhibit coincides with the launch of sales at Allure, a riverfront luxury high-rise condominium community to be built at 2601 First Street.
“Allure Your Senses” will feature more than 23 works of art by Carmona that symbolize life in Cartagena and express the Caribbean way of living. The sculptures will be positioned in various public spaces predominately along First Street and Hendry Street from City Hall to the riverfront.
Edgardo Carmona develops “likable characters that make Cartagena, Colombia, what it is” from multiple parts or structural elements. Since 2003, his artwork has been exhibited in South America, Germany and most recently in an 18-city tour of Europe, including Paris. Many of his works are on permanent display around the world. Edgardo was born in Cartagena, and studied mechanical engineering, business administration, fine arts, painting and sculpture.
