About the Morgan House Restaurant
Opened in 1923 by John Morgan Dean, a native of Rhode Island, the Morgan House Restaurant was located on the corner of Dean and First Streets in Downtown Fort Myers for nearly 90 years. Relocated just 150 feet from its original location, the Morgan House Restaurant is now housed in a historic building on the Patio de Leon, developed in 1913 by Peter Tonneliar, a retired banker from Benton Harbor, Michigan. The Price family embraced the idea of purchasing and renovating the current location to lend a historic feeling to the already legendary hospitality of the Morgan House name. The new location connects the Patio's present and past, providing a relaxing atmosphere for dining the new ways to experience Old Florida Hospitality with New Florida Flair. The Morgan House Restaurant is designed as a casual place enhancing the experience of the Patio's central location in Downtown Fort Myers. Guests can dine cafe style right on the Patio de Leon, enjoy views from the rooftop Terrace Bar or enjoy warm hospitality inside the main dining room, private dining in the Pineapple Room and casual dining on the second level at Top of the Town Speakeasy. The Morgan House Restaurant offers dining and cocktails six days a week and offsite catering for special events.
