December 17, 2010 - Downtown Countdown 2010 Party of the Decade!
The streets of Downtown Fort Myers come to life to celebrate the beginning of a New Year! On Friday, December 31 the River District Alliance will host DOWNTOWN COUNTDOWN 2010 Party of the Decade. This exciting evening will feature live entertainment on six stages, food and drink specials throughout the local businesses, a midnight ball drop and much, much more.
The streets will come alive with New Year’s festivities at 8pm. Mark your calendar to attend the party of the decade. The final selection of bands is complete and the streets of Fort Myers will rock in the New Year! Two stages will hold DJ’s including Gentry Thomas the NYE MC and the man who will drop the ball. The other stages will host No Way Jose, Cadence Wednesday, Stolen Fruit, Fellowbliss, Sinyu and After the Fact. Food vendors include hot and cold food as well as quick snacks and special cup cakes! This year’s beer truck will feature Budweiser products and all proceeds from the beers sales will go to the Surf and Song Festival, supporting Southwest Florida Autism Center Initiative fund to create an early diagnosis Autism Center for Lee Memorial Health Systems. Businesses will be ringing in the New Year in style with specials on food and drink throughout the downtown River District. From live entertainment to drink specials to vendors there will be something for everyone!
New Year’s Eve DOWNTOWN COUNTDOWN 2010 is presented by the River District Alliance and sponsored by many local businesses. The RDA is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and enhancing the development of the Historic River District in Fort Myers as a hub of economic, social and cultural activity.
