February 16, 2012 - Davis Art Center News / Redemption SWFL to Play at Music Walk

Fort Myers, Fl (February 16, 2012) - Redemption SWFL, a classic rock band and local favorite, will play on the outside stage at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center on Friday, March 16. The Music Walk performance will begin at 7 and continue until about 11 p.m. The Davis is located at 2301 First Street in the River District, downtown Fort Myers.

Redemption SWFL covers songs from the 60's through the 90's. They are known for the variety of their song list, most of which is up-tempo. Led by frontman Danny Reese, you'll want to take to the dance floor early in the evening. Their goal is to get the audience involved with the show and make every event something special. They are definitely entertainers and not just musicians. The band came together in April of 2011 and performed their first gig on September 2. After three gigs and overflow crowds each time, they were booked monthly by that first venue for all of 2012.

The band members are Robert Sizemore on guitar, harmonica and vocals; Danny Reese, lead vocals/rhythm guitar; David Neuser, lead guitar/vocals; Sean Dooley, keys/vocals; Bob Dooley, drums/vocals; and Greg Melzler on bass. Their repertoire spans four decades and includes "Johnny Be Good" by Chuck Berry, "Born to Be Wild" by Steppenwolf, "Brown-Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison, "Jumpin' Jack Flash" by the Rolling Stones, "Up on Cripple Creek" by The Band, "Black Magic Woman" by Santana, "Sharp Dressed Man" by ZZ TOP, "Mary Jane's Last Dance" by Tom Petty, "Bad Case of Loving You" by Robert Palmer, and many more!
