CLASSES:
Improvisation (Tues, 2:45-4:15pm) The most challenging and rewarding of all acting exercises! All ages, $90 for 10 weeks, starts Jan 31.
Introduction to Acting (Tues, 4:15-5:45pm) Denyea Clarkson brings 30 years of theater, commercial and TV experience to this course. All ages, $90 for 10 weeks, starts Jan 31
Audition Skills (Thurs,, by appointment only) Students succeed in area auditions and can be seen on WGCU’s Curious Kids Show, on local stages and in commercials. Ages 6-18, $30 for 30-min, ongoing
Interpreting Shakespeare (Thurs, 11:30-1pm) Enjoy identifying meter and rhyme, and learning terminology. Ages 13-18, $75 for 10 weeks, material costs not included. Starts Feb 2
Playwrighting with an Emphasis on Dialogue-Writing (Mon, 10-11:30am) Peter Swet is an Emmy Award-nominated TV screenwriter and playwright, and former Southampton College instructor. Bring your rough draft or completed script and work cooperatively on your dialogue. All ages, $100 for 10 weeks, starts Jan 23
SERIES
Reader’s Theater (2nd, 3rd, 4th Tues. of the month, 5:30-7pm) Read plays, discuss and develop characters in a stress-free environment with Master Coach Elizabeth D'Onofrio. All ages, $100 for 10 weeks plus the cost of materials, starts Feb 14th.
Speakers Series (1st Tuesday of each month, 7pm) An educational, entertaining evening exploring the themes of each of Lab Theater's upcoming plays through presentations by area professionals and experts. Snacks by Lush French Bakery. Free to members of the theater, $5 for non-members.
Playwright’s Seminar (A special 3-day seminar coming this Spring Published playwrights and publishers share their expertise. Join this intensive session along with your unfinished or completed script. All ages, $300 for the 3-day seminar, 9 am - 3pm daily, lunch and refreshments provided
**BandLab™ **(Initial session is the last Sunday of the month, Performance is the first Saturday of the following month) Join our panel of local experts and present your music, which can be original or cover songs. Our panel will provide free guidance and commentary to help you hone your skills. Three talented garage bands will be selected to perform on the first Saturday of the month. For high school garage bands, and college garage bands (high school & college bands will not compete against one another) Tutorial session = free, Performance session = $4 entry fee for your fans, starting Jan 29
