December 14, 2011 - The Legendary Dionne Warwick Performing at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center

Fort Myers, FL (December 14, 2011) - The Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center will host entertainment icon Dionne Warwick on Saturday, January 7, 2012. Ms. Warwick will perform a few of her hits, accompanied by her pianist. It will be an intimate evening in a beautiful, historic setting. The singer and activist is celebrating her 50th year in show business.

Dionne Warwick has established herself as an international musical legend. Her reputation as a hit maker has been firmly etched into the public consciousness, thanks to nearly sixty charted hits since "Don't Make Me Over" began its climb up the charts in Dionne_WarwickDecember 1962. As a performer, she has charmed and entertained audiences on every continent, amassing a worldwide audience. Ms. Warwick has produced classics like "Walk On By," "I Say a Little Prayer," and "What the World Needs Now is Love."

David Elliott, Ms. Warwick's son, will also be performing, accompanied by his acoustic guitarist. David Elliott is a mega-songwriter who co-wrote the smash Grammy winning song

"Here and Now" for Luther Vandross, as well as chart topping singles over the years. David is also known for his impressive acting ability. He starred as Sam Cooke next to

Will Smith in the movie Ali.

 

Opening for Ms. Warwick is Doug Bell, 11 time Grammy nominated singer, guitarist, and front-man for Bellevue Cadillac.

 

The show begins at 8 p.m. at the Davis, 2301 First Street, in the River District, downtown Fort Myers. Tickets are $175.  Gold Table sponsorships are available.
