July 20, 2011 - Tickets Available for Dining in the Dark
Fort Myers, Fl (July 20, 2011) - Tickets for “Dining in the Dark 2011” are now available for purchase online. You are invited to experience a decadent three-course meal as you may never have before – without your sight. Imagine, as you slip on a blindfold you will truly savor the taste of your food, aromas will come alive, your conversations will become more intimate as you recognize your friends only by their voice and the ambiance of the evening will be felt.
On Saturday, September 17, 2011, from 6p.m to 11 p.m, The Visually Impaired Persons of SWFL (VIP), a local non-profit organization serving the blind and visually impaired of Lee, Hendry & Glades Counties since 1974, will host their annual major fundraising and awareness event, “Dining in the Dark” at the Harborside Event Center, downtown Fort Myers. Stacey Adams, news anchor with Wink News Now will emcee the event. After dinner, hit the dance floor, with your blindfold or not, to the sounds of Deb & The Dynamics.
Tickets are $125 person and can be purchased online by visiting the organization’s website at www.vipcenter.org. Sponsorships are still available and can also be purchased online.

This year’s event will bring 200+ people together to participate in this unique dining experience to raise funds and expand understanding of what blind or visually impaired individuals deal with every day. The ‘Dining in the Dark’ event will help to raise funds for the organization to continue to provide a variety of rehabilitative and support services to people and their families experiencing major vision loss and blindness. The goal is to help those affected by a visual impairment regain their independence. All services are offered at no charge to clients. The non-profit operates from limited government funding and the generosity of donations. “Dining the in Dark” is their major fundraising event of year.
