May 23, 2011 - NEW German Language Tours at the Edison & Ford Winter Estates

Fort Myers, Fl (May 23, 2011) - For German speaking visitors, the Edison & Ford Winter Estates is now offering a German language tour led by a bilingual Estates Site Historian on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. beginning June 1, 2011.  The German Language Tours will continue throughout the year.

“Southwest Florida hosts many German visitors each year and it is appropriate for the Estates to accommodate them by offering tours in their language,” says Chris Pendleton, president & CEO.  “The new tour gives our German visitors a unique experience to learn firsthand about the lives and accomplishments of Thomas Edison, Henry Ford and their families.”

The German Language Tour includes a guided tour of the Estates historic homes, gardens, and Edison Botanic Research Laboratory led by a bilingual Site Historian.

Tickets for the German Language Tour are $25 for adults, $15 for children ages 6 – 12 and reservations are not required.  Groups of 20 or more (with advanced reservations) can be scheduled any day of the week, although are subject to availability.   Audio tours are available in German and English daily.  Maps in German, French, Spanish and English are free with purchase of any Estates admission.
