Waterfront Project Schedule

The general flow of redevelopment will be from west to east. The project development will begin with the public improvements necessary to create the water basin (labeled P BLOCK) This creates the waterfront amenity around which the development will follow.

The first development phase includes Block A (to become the expanded 50,000 sq. ft. of Harborside exhibition space), Block B (the existing Harborside Event Center to be expanded and improved), and Block C (the site for the proposed 200-230 room full service hotel).  Also considered in the first phase are the Blocks labeled W1 - W4  designed as flagship waterfront restaurant opportunities.  Phase 2 is expected to include the development of Block D as a mixed use development with retail/restaurants on the first floor and commercial/residential uses above as well as a +500 car public parking facility.

The blocks labeled E and F in the Plan will likely be the last to be redeveloped. In addition, the marina expansion (P17) as well as the commercial building (W6 and W7) will take place as funding for the marina improvements is available.  As the future of the former Ambassador Hotel is unclear at this time, and resolution of the challenges surrounding this property may be some years away, the plan is conceived in such a way that given the proper balance of public and private investment, the development area will appear "complete" at the end of any phase and allow each phase of development to succeed on that basis.
